These are battle scars. No victory is won without pain. Look at Jesus, our example, in order for him to gain the victory in saving our lives from damnation, he had to die on the cross suffering much pain. But in the end he gained the victory through pain, blood, sweat and tears.
The devil will fight you at every end to diminish the fire that burns brightly in your hearts. A fire which is from God that is his strength, keeps us going.
You know when you’re ready to give up, but you can’t, that is the Holy Ghost within you, giving you the strength to press on through the hurts and pain.
Remember when the world is against you, God is for you, protecting you, giving you words to say in the midst of your enemies when they have ill intent for you.
As it says in 1st John 5th chapter starting at the 5th verse it reads: and who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the son of God.
God will fight for you. I don’t care what it looks like; God will fight for you and make you the victor. We are the head and not to tail, above only and not beneath. We are winners, we are not losers. We are more than conquerors. We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us.
Against hope we yet believe, because God hasn’t failed us yet and he never will, because what God said he will do. God is not a man that he should lie.
Every day we go into battle, fighting the devil and his demons, putting on the whole armor of God. We are weary and burdened down, holding our sword and shield. Our arms and hands are heavy holding our spiritual weapons as sweat from fighting falls down our faces.
We feel we can’t go on any further but as your heart weighs heavy within you; the Lord comes, helping us to hold up our sword of the spirit and our shield of faith. As it reads in Deuteronomy the 20th chapter starting at the 4th verse: for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.
God will always provide a way of escape so that you can endure it. And in the midst of the battle, God will give you peace so you won’t crack up. He will strengthen you making you courageous. As Jesus said, in this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world.
Some of you might wonder what does that mean? It means God has your back, it means when family and friends turned their backs on you, God will never leave you. He will still bring you out no matter your situation, because our God is great. There’s nothing too hard for our God, a God who is above all gods.
Take courage sons and daughters of God, as it reads in Ephesians the 6th chapter and the10th verse: finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. From the Lord comes deliverance.
God’s desire for all of us is to be free from the bondage and chains the devil puts us through. Never underestimate the devil, he is cunning, that’s why you need to know your enemy. But though the devil is cunning, God is greater, defeating the devil and beating him upside his head.
See our faith in God gives us the victory that overcomes the world. Our faith puts things in motion, making it come to pass, because we believe it is so. Faith without works is dead, but when we use our faith and act on it, our dreams come true.
Don’t let the Devil steal your blessing. He will bring things your way to upset you and throw you off course. Things that make you upset you within seconds, but when that happens, stay calm says the Lord. I know it’s hard to stay calm, but trust God and listen to him when he speaks to you. Have an ear and heart for the Lord, be opened and in tuned to him and he will speak to your heart. Do not be hardheaded or stubborn, just listen and humble yourself.
When the devil comes and uses things to upset you, stay calm and breathe slowly, take deep breaths. Relax and the Lord will help you to stay calm, giving you peace that surpasses all understanding. The Lord will help you relax when normally you lose it.
You’re probably wondering why it is so important to stay so calm when the devil messes with you. If you don’t stay calm and have a conniption fit, the devil will steal your blessing and you will lose the battle. Your victory will be lost.
That’s the devil’s main goal to make you upset so you lose all your blessings. God will not help you when he sees you having a fit. You’re the one that lost your blessing not God. But when you stay calm and trust in God, he will help you and give you peace and assurance that everything is going to be okay.
When you stay calm in the midst of adversity, this throws the devil off. Notice when Jesus was crucified and was forced to carry his cross down the streets of Jerusalem; and the soldiers beat him and the people threw things at him, Jesus didn’t curse the people or the soldiers. He stayed calm even though he was in all types of pain.
Notice Jesus wasn’t mad even though they abused him with their words and actions. He continued to remain calm even though the devil threw every dart he could think of to try and crack Jesus. But Jesus didn’t give in, you know why?
First, it was because Jesus was on a mission to save all humankind. Second, in order to get the victory, Jesus knew he had to go through much pain and stay calm no matter what the devil threw his way.
And third, Jesus had on the whole armor of God. Jesus had to wear the whole armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, but in Jesus’ case the day of his death, his crucifixion. He would be able to stand his ground and after he did everything to stand, he stood firm with the shield of faith to block out everything the devil threw at him. Trying to make him give up so all humankind would be forever lost.
Jesus also had the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God branded on his heart, helping him to keep going so he could be our sacrificial lamb, shedding his precious blood for our sins. As the soldiers nailed Jesus to the cross and the people mocked him, Jesus said, Lord forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Even then though Jesus cried out in pain, he still remained calm, not letting their mocking words and relentless abuse bother him. That’s the type of God we serve, one who came down from heaven to give his life for us.
Just think if Jesus didn’t die on the cross, we all would be forever lost in hell. But Jesus gave us hope even when we had no hope. For God so loved the world he sent down his one and only son to save all humankind so we wouldn’t be lost.
In closing, with each victory, comes pain. But he or she that endures to till the end, a prize awaits them, a crown of glory. When it’s all said and done, we will look back at our lives and wonder how we got over and we will say, the Lord helped us because he is our strength, our shield and buckler. Victory awaits us all and it’s coming real soon. Just trust in God and read his Word daily and God will bless you.
