There should be a change that has occurred in our lives. A change that permeates every facet of life. This change should be apparent in how we treat others, live, speak, pray, and conduct our personal and public affairs. Our conduct in all of life’s situations should have its foundation in the life of God. One expectation that every child of God should be aware of is that our actions and words are recorded in heaven. As Jesus spoke, “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment” (Matthew 12: 36 KJV). Knowing this we should strive to always live a just and pure life that is pleasing to the Lord. For how we please the Lord is by doing what he says. For Jesus spoke to his disciples, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15 KJV). One of Jesus’s commandments is to be productive. We see this when Jesus spoke, “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing” (Matthew 24: 45-46 KJV).
In another example of being productive (Luke 19:11-27 (KJV)), Jesus gave a parable of a king and his servants. The king gave three of his servants a certain amount of money to invest. These investments were for undisclosed purposes for furthering his kingdom. After a significant time had elapsed, the king called the three servants for an accounting of their deeds. Two of the servants multiplied the king’s investment but the third did not. For the third servant cited that fear, and the king being a hard man for not investing or being productive. In this example the king took this investment from the servant and gave it to the servant who was the most productive.
Whatever God has given you, use it to promote the kingdom of God. Use whatever he has given you with all of your heart, soul and mind. For whatever your gift may be, it will benefit not only the kingdom of God but also the world. For there is a reason and purpose for every person who resides on this earth. Especially if you are a Christian. Your talents will build up the church and can lead many to Christ.
Until we meet again, I pray, The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
