For we are known by our fruit. How are you speaking? You should continue to speak about the love of God and not focus all of your attention on the scandals that a church leader may have. Focus on the love of God and pray for your Christian brother or sister that may have fallen to temptation. Pray for their restoration and deliverance and that you will not fall into temptation.
John continues to write under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”. (John 13:35 KJV). This scripture is still appropriate and relevant today as it was over 2,000 years ago. The world will never know the true heart of our savior Jesus Christ unless the church expresses itself to each other in love. Not the perversion of love that you get from same sex relationships but the Agape love of God. The love that is without pretense, lust, or perversion. A love that will sacrifice your life for those whom you truly care for. A love that prays with the power of the holy spirit for those who misuse you. A love that causes you to continue on in the faith and trust even though you know there is hate. But with the prevailing power of the living God you press on in faith and through prayer for your community. I truly believe that when you do all of this in faith you will see the mighty hand and power of God in our nation and in your lives.
The Apostle Peter continues on with what John described in his letters to the infant church for he writes concerning Christ and us who believe, “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory” (I Peter 1:8 KJV).
For we as Christians have faith, another defining quality that makes us Christians. You have to have something that you can fall back onto. If you believe in him, you have the faith necessary. If you want to believe on Jesus, you have to build up your faith daily. When you read the word you have to keep reading, mutter the word, and think about it. He will expand on your knowledge if you work with what you have. Make sure you put the word of God in you so that you can stand when others are biting and devouring. Stick by the word of the living God. Stand on his promises and his commandments. Believe in Jesus Christ. If you are full of the love of God, you won’t hate. Why? There is no room for hate because you are full of the Love of God. If this is so, you won’t look down on others.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth (1 John 1:6 KJV). When you see another Christian brother or sister that is lying and not truthful, rebuke and pray for them. If they refuse correction walk away and let the Lord take care of the matter. Sadly, when the world and some Christians observe a supposed “Christian” engaging in lies or sin, they paint the whole barrel of Christians as evil and nefarious. But you shouldn’t do that. You see, people have a sinful nature and just because they say that they are Christians and are followers after Christ doesn’t necessarily mean that this is so. Check out their fruit. Investigate how they treat their family, loved ones and pay their bills. If they are holy and pure it will be evident. If they are not, it will all come to light.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (I john 1:8 KJV). When you sin, do you request forgiveness? If you don’t, something is wrong because if you have the spirit of God living in you, he will convict you of sin until it is removed. If you harbor hate in your heart, this is wrong. Cut it out of your life. For the Lord will not tolerate hate. He is love and not hate. For God gives us a spirit of Love not hate. In secular programing they teach us that there are various shades of gray and not true sense of truth. If they do point out truth they say that it is my truth or your truth. But the word of the lord comes to us saying: There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12 NIV).
When you make a mistake you have to ask for forgiveness. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7 KJV).
Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. (Psalms 130:7KJV).
He wants you to love, believe in his son, when you fall, ask for forgiveness. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31KJV)
