I think it’s interesting how the church and the power of God are portrayed in the media as clowns and deceivers but mediums, witchcraft and other forms of spirituality, are viewed as actually harnessing the power of the supernatural. To be sure, spiritism, fortunetelling, and other similar works actually do work in harmony with the supernatural. Now, there may be some charlatans but there are many that have given their lives to this work and perform signs and wonders to deceive. You can find examples of this in the book of (Exodus 7:22 and 8:7 KJV). What hurts many in the church, is that we believe that all of this hogwash and nothing too it. We even deny the power of the living God believing that the stories in the bible are just stories. So we acknowledge the idea of God but deny the power. This in effect has devastating ripples on our society. Because if the church is deceived and deny God, what hope is there for the world.
It is sad that many have left God and turned their backs on him believing that he isn’t real and cannot provide. This is all part of a great deception orchestrated by the evil one. If he can get you to believe in his power and his authority and not in God, you are destroyed. For who will you turn to when disaster hits a nation, disease racks your body, division within the family, or the shattering of an economy? You sure as heck may not turn to God because you already have established that he has no power. Sadly, in many cases people will turn to the evil arts discussed earlier. That is his goal. And Satan is not a compassionate spirit. For the scriptures report that he is a murderer and liar (John 8:44 KJV).
The good news is that Jesus came to bring us life and to have it more abundantly (John 10:10 KJV). Even though there are many who deny that God has power, the simple answer is to inform them to look up and around. The mere fact that we exist and live is evidence of his power. Though his power is omniscient we can have his wonder working power operate in our lives and within our churches. But we must set ourselves apart for his work. We must live our lives in a way that is pleasing to him. We do this through obeying his words (Reading the bible and taking time to study and learn and apply it). When you do this, you will see his power operate and manifest in your everyday life. If you ever wonder why some churches never see miracles, signs and wonders, you can trace it back to the leaders and their personal lives. If they are men and women of prayer, consecration, dedication, and love you will see the power of God. For they will have known him and spoken and taught about his power and the Lord will be true to his word. For he will confirm his word with signs following (Mark 16:20 KJV)
